If Facebook has tough me anything is that I use to paint my face horribly wrong, nothing like looking at a picture that’s who know how many years old and cringing at your own face.
So I have put up a list of the Worst Mistakes most girls do when putting up makeup so that we avoid any embarrassing pictures in the future.
Sleeping with Makeup
The meanest thing you can do to your skin is to sleep without removing your makeup. Besides that waking up next to a painted pillow is not nice either. Sleeping with makeup on causes the pores on your face become clogged, which in turn cause acne and skin rashes. There are several ways to clean your face before sleeping, from cleansers, creams or soaps, even wipe can clean your face quickly and effectively.
Using the wrong Base tone
If you are a fan of makeup, then you probably have tried all kinds of bases and makeups. A big mistake is to buy a base that does not go with your skin tone and that instead of making you look natural (as it should be) makes you look more orange. To find out what tone to use, apply the base in the neck. The base should always have the tone of your body, if not, your face will have a different tone, then your neck.
Not using Primer
Very important: after using your moisturiser and before applying your foundation, you should use the primer. The primer not only makes anything you apply on your face the last longer but also hydrates and moisturises the skin.
Applying makeup on dry skin
It is horrible to apply makeup on dry skin especially if you don’t hydrate. It is important to exfoliate the skin at least once a week so that the skin does not dry out. If you don’t regularly use creams that exfoliate and moisturise, the base that you apply to your face will not mix with your skin, and look even drier.
Applying lipstick on chapped lips
Another terrible mistake, it is to have chapped lips and still using lipstick on them. As you exfoliate your skin, it is important to exfoliate the lips, especially if you’re using matte tones, as these are the ones who will bring up the chapped lips the most.
Using the wrong tone corrector
Concealer is important to look spotless with makeup. As with the base, the checker cannot be darker than your skin. This will only cause the bags under the eyes and dark circles to become much more noticeable. While buying a concealer, check if it’s a very pastel peach or orange tone. This tone counteracts the blues and purple tones of dark circles, making it ideal to cover them. You must keep the skin hydrated to make the corrective function. The skin around the eyes is very delicate, so it should be treated differently than the rest of the face.
Using too much blush
There is nothing worse than a woman with the excess blush. Whether pink, orange or tan, having a lot of blush will make you look like a clown or sickly. Buy tones that look natural but that add colour to your skin. Try not to leave very marked lines on the cheeks, as this will also cause the blush to seem excessive.
Painting the eyebrows too dark
Yes, Cara Delevingne brought them back, but that does not mean you should paint your eyebrows more. If you want your eyebrows to look darker and thicker, be very careful when choosing what to paint. If you have brown hair, buy an eyebrow pencil a shade lighter than your hair colour tone. If you’re a redhead, opt for darker (but never abuse and never use black). Having outlined eyebrows well maintained is definitely a must to highlight the look, but be careful and choose the colours correctly.
Use waterproof mascara every day
The waterproof mascara is a good choice if you’re on the beach or if you are going to a wedding and don’t want tears ruining your makeup. Now, using waterproof mascara every day is a big mistake. The waterproof mascara has a special formula, which makes the mascara last long and will not fall with water. The problem is that this same formula will also dry your eyelashes. The less you use it, the better.
Not washing your brushes
If you do not want to have acne, rashes, bacterial or skin infections, you should wash your brushes. If you’ve never done this, it’s time to start. All you need is to use baby shampoo and rinse with water or use an unscented shampoo.
